Liothyronine sourcing- HELP!

Hi everyone,

I've just made an account on here to seek help. I've been ordering Thybon 20 for my Dad for the past 4 years as he was refused treatment (even though he has been on Liothyronine or something similar since the 70s/80s).

I tried ordering some more for him but got a bounce back email as Germany is no longer shipping to the UK. I cannot find anything online where to order more for him and he is considering travelling to Southern Ireland (when it's safe to do so), but I don't want him to have a wasted trip.

Please, if anyone knows anything/has ordered from another pharmacy in the EU online, please do let me know.

Do you have a prescription? I understand that ThybonHenning was available from German pharmacies with a UK prescription but that has now ceased since Brexit.

Yes, he's got a private prescription. I think that's what has happened, luckily we managed to get our last order in before Brexit but now we are a bit stuffed! Do you reckon all other EU countries will be in the same boat (won't ship to the UK whether you have a prescription or not)?😓😓😓

Specialist pharmacies in U.K. are now supplying Thybon Henning as it’s no longer possible to get from EU

EU pharmacies can only dispense to EU registered Doctors

Obviously U.K. medics no longer in EU

Roseway lab and other specialist pharmacies can supply Thybon Henning 20mcg tablets at approx £1 per tablet

Considerably cheaper than U.K. T3

As you have a private prescription, look at the ThyroidUK list of pharmacies and ring round to see who stocks it and their prices. thyroiduk.org/if-you-are-hy...

I think it's something to do with paperwork but can't be sure, it's probably been made difficult. I don't know about other countries, it's just that Germany was used by many members here with private prescriptions prior to Brexit.

ThyroidUK has a list of UK pharmacies who will dispense private prescriptions and you can get Thybon Henning, not as cheap as from Germany but around £1 per tablet I understand, ring round for prices but it might be Roseway who do it at that price:

It’s because U.K. doctors are no longer EU registered

EU pharmacies only ever could dispense prescriptions written by EU registered medics

Thanks so much for this. That makes a lot more sense. We are seeing if he can order to a friend who lives in Southern Ireland and then they can post it out to us. He doesn’t really have the money for the Uk pharmacy ones so we are hopeful this way round will work out!
