I don't think there is such a thing as 'pooling'. The half-life of T3 is 24 hours so it doesn't have time to 'pool' . The T3 that is not taken up by the cells is eliminated in a number of ways so that 24 hours after taking it, you only have half of it left. Within another 24 hours, a quarter of it is left. The system regulates itself to avoid unwanted build up as it were.Your Ft3 result isn't over range - it is a reasonable result. Your ft4 is low. This is probably because you need more T4 - implying that the ratio of T4 to T3 in NDT is maybe not right for you.
Some folks find they need to add some levo to bring Ft4 levels up.
Thank you yes i was thinking this myself but it is so confusing because i do follow a other group and they are strict believers in pooling. I do find it strange my ft4 did go so low. It was 15 and it drop while 80% is t4. Do you have a explanation for the t4 dropping? Because i do take 2 grain that is almost 80mcg t4.
T3 tends to suppress T4 so your FT4 will tend to be lower than on levo alone. Some folks feel ok with low ft4 but others need it higher and supplement by adding some levo to their net dose.
I dont feel good. And i will suplement some t4. So i do that it is possible to get the t4 up? Or will it stay supressed by t3?
Unlikely. Like Lalatoot, I don’t think pooling really exists. It’s a pet theory, most often mentioned by readers of STTM (Stop the Thyroid Madness).
Here’s a previous discussion of the topic.
