On advice from here I started supplementing with vit 4000iu daily. It so contains zinc and magnesium. I live in North Ireland so little sunshine. I find it has helped my energy levels and sugar cravings loads from about the first week though oddly I find my short term memory worse. Wonder is it displacing any heavy metals? Anyone any similar experiences?

Hello... I've just been diagnosed with a D3 deficiency 2 months ago. But originally I suffered a horrible health trial where I had heavy metals in my brain. For a year I detoxed with the help of a nutritionist and afterwards discovered my D3 deficiency. I noticed after starting D3 it stirred up a lot of past symptoms, which could be a good sign and part of retracing. I notice some things completely changing for the better, then other things feeling worse. I take K2, magnesium and other things, along with electrolyte drinks and V8 to make sure nothing else is getting depleted as the D3 does its thing.

But one piece of advice I got from my nutritionist is things usually get worse before getting better when it comes to detoxing and fixing deficiencies. Getting the crap out is one mess, then putting good things back in is another. I hold onto that advice because I seen it work with the detox, and also with B12 shots for another deficiency. It just takes time, which can be between weeks and months, before seeing improvements. Everything for me takes long, but I find that most things pass as different parts of the body and brain heals. My mental state is definitely affected by the D3, causing all sorts of malfunctions, but it keeps changing in a good way.

Unlike you I actually became extremely fatigued after a few weeks of supplementing, but found out my body handled it better at night. So I take it before bed and actually sleep better with less daytime fatigue. The heavy metals did a big number on my brain, but I couldn't improve until they were gone. I know certain vitamins can stir up metals, especially B12. Just see if it passes in time or you may need to detox.

I hope you are better soon ☺️
