Hi all-Need some expert advise here on TSH labs. Two weeks ago my TSH was 1.80 with a steady dose of 50mcg of tirosint for six weeks. Started an increase at that time of 13mcg more of tirosint, but still felt under medicated. Just had labs done again and it's now 1.10 ! So how can TSH go from 1.80 to 1.10 in two weeks on such a small bump in dosage ? Could that be a false reading ? Thanks for any input !

Thanks for responding ! Only two weeks which I know isn't recommended but I have had troubles with just being stable for years. My dose is only half of what it was several years ago. Just when I start feeling "normal", I can easily go into bouts of tachycardia which no one can explain, as in endocrinologists.
Oh lol ! About 5 hrs, no supplements.
Waste of time testing until 6-8 weeks minimum after any changes in dose
Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
I know you're right, six weeks is optimal, wanted to see if the numbers had jumped up. I take B12, D, a good multi.
Generally multivitamins not recommended

That's not really such a big movement on TSH , And much of the difference between 1.8 and 1.1 could be accounted for by the natural difference between the high point and the low point of TSH each day . TSH is highest in the middle of the night and falls to lowest around 2pm.
The difference can be as much as 40/50% in some people , although much less in others.
And usually less once on thyroid hormone replacement. But this is just so you know that TSH taken at a different time on the same day could reasonably be expected to move by nearly that much. (it also goes up and down a little even within the same hour , as it is released in a pulsatile manner not a steady stream).
It's likely your TSH is a bit lower from the increased dose , and two weeks is enough to see some movement, but it may move further (either down or back up a bit) if you wait the full 6 weeks to allow new dose to settle.
I don't see any reason to be concerned its incorrect, its' just more variable than most people think.
weird but my free t3 doesn't change much..around 2.6, low normal. T4 is always in the middle of the scale.
