Hi all, following recent great advice on this group I started taking vitamin D and a Super B-complex (Igennus) to try and boost my levels. Will taking these vitamins have an impact on my blood testing and results ? And should I stop taking these prior to any testing ? Many thanks.

You should take Vit D 4 hours away from your thyroid meds unless using an oral spray then it can be taken anytime, and your B complex 2 hours away from your thyroid meds.
Vit D needs to be taken with dietary fat (fattiest meal of the day) unless using an oral spray.
B Complex should be left off for 7 days before any blood test (including thyroid) as it contains Biotin and if the lab uses Biotin in the testing procedure (most labs do) it causes false results.
Thank you for the advice and quick response. I take levothyroxine on waking with water (6-7am), at least one hour before caffeine and eating. I take vitamin D and B complex together with my lunch roughly 1pm, hopefully this is ok? Thanks for clarifying on B complex and blood tests.
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
