Pathology Laboratory Analysers - Videos

We have seen many references to pathology laboratories and thyroid testing.

Although I vaguely remember such labs from an awfully long time ago, truth is I simply do not have even a mental picture of how modern analyser machines work. We all know they are highly computerised. I'm sure many of us suspect they are heavily automated. How else could they achieve turnarounds of a matter of hours over hundreds of samples?

What I did was simply to search through YouTube for some suitable videos - and here they are! I tried to select a variety of makes, sizes, etc.

If you have any suggestions for other videos to add, maybe to replace any I have included, please let me know.

Also, be aware that some have fairly unpleasant background sound - maybe turn your computer sound down a bit before running them?

Hi Helvella

Yes, most labs are heavily automated these days and in most cases the machines are primed and up and running all day long. Very little human intervention apart from loading samples on the machine and topping up reagents where needed. Brings back memories seeing these videos.

Thanks for finding and posting these films helvella . If they can make such brilliant machines, can they not make us one little machine that measures our FT3!
