Was the any discussion about what the clicking issue might be a result of? Did the report mention it?
Initially with thyroiditis the thyroid can enlarge, but shrinkage is often detected, especially later on. With thyroiditis the immune system it attacking the thyroid and leaving it damaged (this it what causes the of underproduction of hormones) the damage can be referred to as atrophied tissue.
The varying texture is referred to as heterogeneous.
Nodules are common in thyroid, Hypo-echoic means it’s less dense than a normal thyroid.
Reduced vascularity means the blood flow is less than normal (as there is lower volume of the thyroid)
This is consistent with original diagnosis of thyroiditis. There’s nothing to be alarmed about.
You shouldn’t need a repeat scan. Scans aren’t routinely done for thyroid dysfunction, often they are only done if there is an specific issue affecting swallowing, breathing or voice.
