Hi my blood test results came back today t3 - 5.5, t4 -13.6 and Tsh-0.018 and the doctor wants me to come down to 75mcg. I have always been in the 0.01s and generally felt okay. The problem is my ms has progressed and the tablets I am are for fatigue and will mask any effects of the levothyroxine. Generally in the last I have felt awful on 75mcg, I am also going through the menopause so I am at a loss on how to argue this one as I this is a new surgery. Am in currently on 75/75/100mcgn from 75/100. Is there any advise that I can bring up with the doctor. That should be generally in the past not generally in the last.

We need the reference ranges for your results please, we need to know where your FT4 and FT3 lie within their range, these are the important results that doctors should take into account, not TSH, but unfortunately they are ignorant of this fact.
Cannot get the ranges due to covid meaning I cannot go in and get a print out of results, but mk the ranges are pretty standard. I will email them tomorrow and find out what the ranges are. No the blood test was at 12.10 as they didn’t have a morning one, I didn’t take my tablets but I did have a coffee.
Absolutely essential to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Are you on strictly gluten free diet
Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Looking at previous posts you had low vitamin D in past
Cannot see any results for ferritin, folate, B12
I am taking 6000dlux mouth spray in winter and 3000 in summer for vit d, didn’t have the others done but were in normal parameters before.
Within range often not optimal
Vitamin D at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better
Vitamin D needs testing twice year when supplementing
Rest need testing annually
Obviously NHS rarely do this
Folate and ferritin at least half way through range
Serum B12 at least over 500
Active B12 at least over 70

Hi
I take levothyroxine and my doctor wanted to reduce my dose based on my TSH, when I argued that my T4 and T3 were in range and NOT over he reluctantly let me keep on my current dose.
I would argue that when you have been taking 75mcg. before you felt awful, so insist on sticking with 100mcg. and say you have enough going on with having M.S. and going through the menopause without having to reduce your levo. which will make you feel worse again.
Even without seeing your ranges your T3 looks O.K. but your T4 seems to be at the lowish end of normal so you could point this out also.
I wish you luck and best wishes.
I did today and he agreed that I could come down to 75,75,75/100. That took some effort to get there.
