Thyrovanz to metavive switch

Hi, new to this forum and after some advice - I've been taking Thyrovanz bovine glandular thyroid happily for the last 18 months, sadly due to covid the supply has become difficult buying from the UK so I have bought Metavive 1 and 11 to switch over to. I am completely lost how to match it with my current dose as I have read it really only contains 15mg and 30mg respectively, the rest being made up with Nucleotides. I currently take 150mg of Thyrovanz - would that mean I would have to take 5 x metavive 11 (400mg) to get the same dose - it seems rather high? (not to mention much more expensive) - any help greatly appreciated :)

Go by your temperature and google dr myhill and metavive. I’m hypothyroid. Starting on two and gradually increased till my temperature was in a normal range. Good luck 😉

Hi Amanda, yes that's what I did before but as I am switching rather than starting from scratch I'm looking for a starting point, my temperature and pulse are already perfect at 36.5/74bpm first thing mornings, and I'm worried about going too low - it's usually recommended when switching to stay at the same dose - if it transpires that I need to take several to get the same dose I don't think it will be financially viable. I can still get thyrovanz but only 1 bottle per customer, which is pretty crap when you add on costs to ship to the uk.

Perhaps you should have gone for the bovine Metavive (3 & 4) It’s only a thought as Thyrovanz is bovine and the swap may be easier to manage. It might be a good idea to contact Metavive manufacturers to see what their advice is, other than that, I can’t help, sorry😟

just as an FYI, you can email Thyrovanz and ask them to place an order for you via email, explain how shipping is pricey to your Country, and that you would like to buy more than one bottle. I have always done like this and they always allowed to buy several bottles at the time, even when they show the restriction on the website. Shipping is around 30$ (can't remember exactly) so I wouldn't buy just one bottle

I have bulk ordered Thyrovanz before, but another factor is Thyrovanz has lost it's potency according to the group I am in, so I'm going to try the Metavive first and see how it goes. I still have a years supply of Thyrovanz left.
