Would someone give me advice on this please. I’m self medicating and started with 50 levo about 2/3 weeks ago, split the dose but still felt awful. I’ve previously tried levo and had similar results. I dropped 25 levo dose and introduced 1 metavive I about a week ago and felt really good, lots of energy and clear head, constipation gone. I was also using half adrenavive at that time but stopped it as I felt a bit ‘puffy’.
The past 2/3 days haven’t been so good, but I’ve decided to just work through it in the hope it will resolve. Yesterday, I had a long walk (around 3hours) doing some Christmas stuff, I enjoyed it at the time but last night I crashed around 7pm and this morning I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What you need to know is that most people won't even begin to feel better until they are close to their optimal dose and have been taking it for a few months. 2-3 weeks at 50mcgs and levo is really only beginning to work + it's only a starter dose so no wonder you still felt awful. It will take you up to a year, perhaps less to get the dose right and raise your key vitamin levels to optimal.
Blood results are also essential to guide treatment. Do take time to have a read around this group to see how raising dose and getting optimally treated works.
I can only echo Jaydee1507 . I sorely wish I'd realised how long it would take to get better.
Hormone replacement isn't like a paracetamol for a headache. I'm 2.5 years down the line and still tweaking my dose.
I still can't run as a hobby, or really do any kind of exertional exercise but my life looks like everyone else's now. I can spend a day shopping without recovering for days on end.
You can get there Jamima but this is definitely a marathon and not a sprint. ❤️

I think it's like when you're desperate for a drink. It's boiling hot and you suddenly realise your gasping for a drink. You rush to the kitchen and stick your head under the tap. That first gulp of water is just incredible and so refreshing.
I think that's what happens to a body when you first give it what it needs. At first it's amazing but then you need to figure out how to avoid the ebbs and flows... Like hydrating throughout the day.
Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I’m not new to replacing hormones, I was on hrt for 10 years and been tinkering round the edges with thyroid replacement for over a year. I understand what you saying and will plod on.
When you do a 3 hour walk you will use up your thyroid hormones, do it's not surprising that you crash afterwards. If you know you are going to have a heavy day you could take some extra hormone to compensate. Normally your pituitary gland would signal your thyroid to produce more hormone after a heavy day. As you are working your way up to a stable dose you probably don't have any reserves of hormone to draw on
Thank you. That’s what it feels like - the tank draining. The problem is, I’m not sure how to compensate,l as I’m just starting and not supposed to increase for 6 weeks. I think my adrenals are playing a big part too.
