I’m 63 and had half my thyroid out six months ago. Leading up to this I was struggling with fatigue and ectopic heartbeats. Heart was checked arteries clear and functioning well. No blood pressure issues it’s low if anything. My thyroxin level was 20. I had the operation and felt great but now feeling as I did before the op and finding when I walk my dog I feel like a fullness in my chest not pain in any way just a weird feeling I walk about two miles but then I’m done. Anyone else struggled like this due to thyroid. My vitamin levels are all good. My thyroxin is around 19.

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
Thanks for replying. I had a full test with Medichecks and everything was good except ferritin was low. I’m taking b vitamins and ferritin d3 and k2 vitamin c magnesium. I’m not on thyroid meds. The other half of the thyroid picked up the slack to the point it’s high at 20. I had nodules and the op was suspected cancer which it was but all removed and not spread.
Ah, found your results from 4m ago. But if you haven’t tested recently I think I’d advise testing again. If it’s been 6m since your hemi and 4m since your last blood tests, things could well have changed.
Your folate was very low previously—did you start supplementing that?
Sounds familiar, I had something similar and it gradually got worse until the doctor put me on ferritin and Omeprazole. The Omeprazole relieved the gas build up that was making me bloat to the point that I couldn't eat. Maybe the start of IBS so worth asking the doctor about. Eating pineapple slices was helping me in the interim.
