Soles of feet hurting

For a while have had painful soles of feet, I have spent a "small fortune" on different shoes, insoles, socks etc. but no joy. Anyone know if connected with hypothyroid? ...or can offer any advice? thank you

Burning soles of the feet was one of my first symptoms.

At its worst I couldn't walk far and every morning had to shuffle to the bathroom because I could bear to walk properly.

It's almost gone completely now I'm on a reasonable amount of levo!

Thank you for reply, someone mentioned the hurting and now that I think of it my soles burn at night in bed . Interesting !!! we are such a mixture of symptoms - I just never connected it with being hypo...thought it was just the way I was!!!

When people post about the feeling of burning, especially of feet, I quite often post this link.

It is getting on a bit but nonetheless it does give an overview of the causes of burning feet. And I have not seen a more recent article which I could use instead.

It's impossible to unpick, sometimes!

Do you mean as in Plantar Fasciitis?

If so, I strongly believe it to be connected to hypothyroidism - at least for me. (I also have extremely high arches - both those and flat feet seem to be associated with this.)

Advice? Hmm. Be gentle. I tried several things including exercises and special orthotic inserts (advised by "experts") and found they all worsened the issue - sometimes by a huge amount.

My answer has been ultrasoft "diabetic" insoles - in shoes which are made to have room for them. And getting to adequate levothyroxine intake.

There have been quite a few discussions here over the years. Here is a link to many such posts:

Thanks for reply, I also have peripheral neuropathy - at least gp and neurology consultant thought that was what was causing the "weird" sensations in my legs and feet. The diagnosis wasn't definite and a physio (NHS) couldn't shed any light. Will Google diabetic insoles but prob. is getting suitable shoes. I have tried lots of inserts (recommended by NHS podiatrist)but like you found they made prob. worse. Never mind, just one of those things sent to try my patience. Not known for my patience!!!

I am lucky to have a very well respected osteopath near me. I visited when my plantar fascitis was almost unbearable. They did a therapy with ultrasound on the souls of my feet, which gave me some respite.

Perhaps worth looking into?

Typical when under medicated and/or poor conversion

Low Ft3

Often linked to low vitamin D and low B vitamins too

Plantar fasciitis usually improves dramatically/ completely resolves as Ft3 increases

Yes, now I've been medicated it was the first symptom to go! But before I was medicated the ultrasound was useful for respite.

Wasn't sure if the OP was on levo. ... Should've checked! :)

I was diagnosed with Plantar fasciitis in 2013 - 6yrs after Hashi's. I didn't know they were connected until now. I can't remember how long it took, but it got better and has not returned. I had exactly the same pain in my hands.
