Thyrax is not a drug, it is the thyroid hormone T4 - aka levothyroxine.

The only 'sole' I know is a fish. But, I cannot see how salt water can help your thyroid if you have hypothyroidism.

Being hypo means that your thyroid can no-longer - for whatever reason - produce enough hormone to make you well.

You can only replace a hormone with a hormone, not a mineral. So, salt is not going to make your thyroid hormone levels higher, and you cannot live without thyroid hormone.

So, you really do need to take the Thyrax.

On the other hand, salt water might have a beneficial effect on your adrenals. And adrenals are often slow when you are hypo. Perhaps that is what you read?

Sorry I Just placed the topic here I have a slow thyroid the dr said. Sole is iodine right. My husband when child was diagnosed with low thyroid too and adviced to take walks at the seashore.

I am not sure what I have, now lsleptt a bit and woke up. Have some difficulty sleeping too but my head around and in my head and ears is this sizzling sound and my feet are tintling Can be from low thyroid (was first time description and had to return after a month which i did not cause did not take the pilss) Also a history of low b 12. So these symptoms are from low thyroid? And I should take them ?

Taking iodine will not help anything unless you are iodine deficient. And to know if you're iodine you have to get your level tested. It's a myth that iodine 'helps' the thyroid. It is just one of the ingredients of thyroid hormone. But, if your thyroid isn't working properly and can't make thyroid hormone, iodine is not going to help.

The symptoms you describe can be from low thyroid, and also low B12. Are you taking B12 supplements? You really should take the Thyrax, and go back to be retested in six weeks. :)
