As you have Hashimoto’s.....Are you on strictly gluten free diet?

Hi, yes I do have the list thank you. I was wondering if anyone had a personal take on someone. Yes, I am gluten free; I started about two years ago and at the same time switched to taking my medicines at bedtime on an empty stomach and things did improve for a long while.

Suggest you retest thyroid again 6-8 weeks after going absolutely strictly gluten free

Last dose levothyroxine should be 24 hours before test

Day before blood test, split T3 into 2 x 5mcg

First 5mcg dose waking, 2nd 5mcg dose 12 hours before test

Do test early Monday or Tuesday morning and post back via tracked 24 hour postal service

Also remember to stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results

No other medication or supplements at same as Levothyroxine, leave at least 2 hour gap.

Some like iron, magnesium or vitamin D should be four hours away

(Time gap doesn't apply to Vitamin D mouth spray)

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
