Hey you :) how did it go? x

Hi, it went rather well! He prescribed me the levothyroxine when I having issues with NHS GPs not understanding my case. What is your case in terms of what would like the endo to do? Is it just a prescription you are after? Because I feel like he is good for that! I was having problems with early miscarriages and a NHS blood test on antibodies for thyroid and found they were elevated even though my TSH was within the normal range, the nhs gps still did not prescribe me anything anD i wanted a second opinion. So my aim was to get someone to precribe me the levo as I was having issues with someone listening to me....

If you would like the details I can message you privately. Let me know

Emstar, I've just looked through your posts over the last month or so. I can see you are desperate, and a bit all over the place looking for a solution - not surprising given how rotten your sleep is.

They always say you should sort out your adrenals before adding thyroid medications. I would think, since you are hard up, your best bet would be to do the 24 hour saliva cortisol test first. No conventional NHS consultant will do that test, and yet its the best way to understand what your adrenals are up to.

There's no doubt in my (un medically trained, of course) mind that you are in the early stages of hypothyroidism. I was certainly very symptomatic by the time my TSH reached your levels.

Or you could go to a doctor specialising in complementary medicine - mine did the cortisol test, although it would have been cheaper to have it done via Thyroid UK. He has a clinic in London as well as other places. PM me if you want his name.

Gosh, thanks very much for such a thoughtful reply! I actually ordered a cortisol test this week so hopefully that'll clarify some things. Yes please, do let me know! X
