Hello everyone ❤️

I'm asking this for my cousin who for the past 4 months has been having bad symptoms of shaking, tremor, insomnia, a rash over her chest and legs, total fatigue brain fog, although she never put it that way she just said she felt like she was loosing her mind could not consentrate on anything. Her job as suffered to as she as no energy to do it, I asked her to get a full thyroid blood test, unfortunately her gp would not do this she used medichecks as I advised her, she went private for a scan on the thyroid which showed a nodule on one sides they think this is making the thyroid overactive, she eventually got the gp to do a full blood work up.. Now they have mentioned fibro, and poets syndrome,, her blood for thyroid is as follows : TSH.. 0.07..range 0.30--6.80..pmol/L)

T3...5.6..range 3.10---6.80..pmol/L)......T4...11.9...range.. 11.00--22.00pmol/L) no one is giving her any advice or answers and now her appointment will the specialist has been cancelled, she's going out of her mind.. 😔😔

Thank you if you reply ❤️❤️❤️❤️

It does sound like the nodule is affecting her thyroid function. Do you have a copy of her ultrasound results? Also did she have her antibodies tested?

Hi Lora7again❤️To be quite honest they(the surgery) have not been very good with her, refusing to do blood work because as her gp says her thyroid bloods are within range, I would question that as her TSH is not! Her last bloods were the same with T3, and TSH) but her T4 was 21.00....range 11.00..22.00..so that has come down she is on no meds, I think she said the antibodies were normal, but we on here know normal doesn't mean much!! This is how I was my gp kept saying all my bloods were normal upshot diagnosed 2 years later with hypothyroidism later test graves, thyroid removed due to toxicity, I got my records from my gp/hospital and there are 5 TSH of 00.5),,,00.2,,)00.6 and so on until it was suppressed, only one set of T3, T4, done along with the TSH tests, but hospital lab's and gp said normal no action, I fear this is the route she is going down, and like me specalists and gp are looking for something else instead of the thyroid 🤦‍♀️ I was tested for everything under the sun, except the one thing MY THYROID FUNCTION 🤷‍♀️.. and my gp and specalists had the cheek to say I was very lucky I got these tests, they are saying the same to her!!! Eventho her appointment has been cancelled 🤦‍♀️... I was thinking hashis lora7again but will admit I don't know much about it..

Thank you ❤️❤️

Looks like early stage Hashimoto’s or central hypothyroidism

Very Low Ft4

For full Thyroid evaluation she needs TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

She needs GP to test vitamin levels and Thyroid Antibodies

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

List of private testing options

thyroiduk.org/getting-a-dia...

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Thriva Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins By DIY fingerpick test

thriva.co/tests/thyroid-test

Thriva also offer just vitamin testing

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins by DIY fingerprick test

bluehorizonbloodtests.co.uk...

If you can get GP to test vitamins and antibodies then cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

thyroiduk.org/getting-a-dia...

monitormyhealth.org.uk/

Also vitamin D available as separate test via MMH

Or alternative Vitamin D NHS postal kit

Hi slowdragon ❤️Thanks for the reply, antibodies were normal... But so we're mine then they were not,( graves), it beats me how when people have symptoms which her gp can clearly see and do nothing!! sorry fgot she's lost over 2 stone in weight to, that made me think hyperthyroidism first has herT4 was 21.00 on first bloods it's now gone down to 11.9,on this last test, why don't they re test, she's having to pay for blood work as gp refused saying bloods for thyroid are normal, I thought hashis to, so would you think slowdragon that a T4 of 21.00 about 6 weeks ago and is now 11.9..could be an indication she is in hashis swings...i feel so lost for her she's crying everyday 😔😔😔

NHSx frequently only tests TPO antibodies

She needs BOTH TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested

20% of Hashimoto's patients never have raised antibodies

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Paul Robson on atrophied thyroid - especially if no TPO antibodies

paulrobinsonthyroid.com/cou...

Plus vitamins obviously

Extremely common to have weight loss in early stage Hashimoto’s

private for a scan on the thyroid which showed a nodule on one side

So this needs investigation

It could be a “hot” nodule that’s making thyroid hormones regardless of TSH

mayoclinic.org/diseases-con...

Or it could be nodules due to Hashimoto’s

Hi slowdragon ❤️My thoughts exactly something is going on with her thyroid, but gp won't listen, she was told she could have poems syndrome because her red cell count was high, her platelet count was high, MCHC/(gL) low.. my red cell count and platelet were high to when I had hyperthyroidism, as her appointment with the specialist was cancelled she is now resided to a phone consultation, I've instructed he to ask about further blood work to be done I will forward her the things you have mentioned in the post,

Again that you slowdragon ❤️❤️

Hugh platelet count and low MCHC both can be due to being anaemic

medicalnewstoday.com/articl...

healthline.com/health/low-mchc

Anaemia common with Hashimoto’s

She needs to insist that GP do full iron panel test for anaemia

Vitamin D, folate and B12 too
