Scammer do not fall for him. Do not waste your money. Just report the scammer to admin. Something needs to be done after Christmas.

Found that the scammer has been following me, I only take thyroxine, he left a post offering thyroid medication to buy online. Have reported it. Not happy when somebody is following me. The person is taking pot luck as to who they follow.

I think this person has been allowed to do this because of the Christmas break.

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply to Lora7again

He has been reported to HealthUnlocked in his previous guises and before Christmas in his new incarnation, it's HU that are doing nothing. We Admin can't do anything except ask members to keep reporting him to HU, hopefully everyone who is being followed - currently 1,828 since 22nd December with his new username - will report him and they may look into it.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to SeasideSusie

They might have NDT but it is very expensive and members might lose their money.

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply to Lora7again

Unlikely to have NDT when 2 of the Thai brands stopped production last year and Thyroid-S not being available for many months and all other suppliers being completely out of stock, with even the most reliable of suppliers only able to offer back orders.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to SeasideSusie

You are right because I only have a small amount myself.

Serendipitious profile image
Serendipitious in reply to SeasideSusie

SeasideSusie,

Can I ask why the supply of NDT has been affected?

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply to Serendipitious

African swine fever in south east Asia led to culling of millions of pigs in China where most thyroid extract is produced, this led to shortage of NDT.

There was a post about it in November 2019 here:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

and more detail can be found if you do an internet search.

Serendipitious profile image
Serendipitious in reply to SeasideSusie

Must have missed it thanks for the information. I thought it might have been big Pharma meddling with NDT.

shaws profile image
shawsAdministrator in reply to SeasideSusie

That's really horrible of Healthunlocked not to take action against this person who could supply items that may not be authentic altogether and the person could become very unwell who purchased it.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to shaws

I don't think they can stop it because the nasty couple are using a proxy server. The best we can do is keep telling members about them.

elwins profile image

Thanks for your reply, I have four headings. home, my hub, chat and then a bell like shape which turns a colour to show that you have a notification but cannot find out how to delete these notifications just looking for help. Thanks for replying again.

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply to elwins

elwins

You can't delete the bell notifications (or turn it off). It has a purpose, the bell shows a coloured dot when someone has, say, replied to one of your posts (like I have now) or liked a post you have made, or tagged you. It's just a feature of the forum. If that feature wasn't there you wouldn't know that I have responded to your post. The yellow dot only shows when there is something new that needs bringing to your attention, click on it, see what the notification is then the yellow dot disappears until you get a new notification.

There's no need to delete them anyway, you have to click on the bell to see them and they only show a maximum number so when a new notification comes through you loose one from the bottom of the list anyway.

Thanks for your reply and explanation it is much appreciated something I did not quite understand, you are so knowledgeable good to have someone like you giving out advice.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to elwins

Why would you want to delete them? It tells you when someone has responded to your post or you would have no idea if someone has replied.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again

It is now following 1828 members.

shaws profile image
shawsAdministrator in reply to Lora7again

That's a huge number and I would have though HU could have the facility to ban this person.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to shaws

I don't think they can if they keep using a proxy server. I knew someone who used a proxy in Russia and he kept coming back and there was nothing the site could do to stop him.

RedApple profile image
RedAppleAdministrator in reply to shaws

I think HU may have abandoned ship for the time being. We may have to wait until Monday for this account to be removed from the platform.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to RedApple

I think everyone who has been followed by them should send them a message asking them who they are and see if they reply.

RedApple profile image
RedAppleAdministrator in reply to Lora7again

I disagree. I think it's better to have no interaction at all.

Don't give them any opportunity to have any communication with you.

Ideally:

1) switch off the 'Follow' feature in your account settings.

2) Report any PM received from this member.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to RedApple

They won't reply unless you want to buy.

I have put the link to his profile near the end of the thread. His name is Thiroyd

Kazbe profile image

Oh no he’s following me ! What shall I do nothing ? This is awful it sort of un nerves you ! Thanks for the heads up 😀

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to Kazbe

He has stopped following me because I reported him the last two times he was here.

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply to Kazbe

Kazbe

Report him to HealthUnlocked. Go to his profile page (click on his username or avatar to take you there) and near the top is a REPORT button, click on that and fill in the details. The more people who report him the more likely HealthUnlocked are to take this seriously.

Nanaedake profile image

You can prevent people following you by switching off the 'follow' facility in your profile. You can also switch off private messaging.

helvella profile image
helvellaAdministratorThyroid UK in reply to Nanaedake

But you cannot switch off ONE person following you.

Many are happy for some to follow them (I am).

We shouldn't have to forego the whole facility because one person is misusing it.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to helvella

I think we need a blocking facility so we can block people who we don't want to follow us.

Buddy195 profile image
Buddy195Administrator in reply to helvella

Thankyou for explaining this. Same person has just added ‘following’ to my profile. I find it useful to follow people with similar thyroid symptoms/ people who have given me valuable advice, so I do not wish to opt out of this option.

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to Buddy195

It looks like he is starting to follow people again after the Christmas break. Hopefully he will be gone tomorrow again with a bit of luck. It is a pity he cannot take the hint and go away.

looks like Hu have woken up .... Thiroyd's profile page now says 'no longer exists'... which would be nice , but i expect he'll be back called 'something else' before we know it .

HU are still Zzzzzzz'ing

helvella profile image

I agree with you.

Also, I rarely post anything truly personal. Having followers simply appears to be a way for anyone who might be interested to see what I post!

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to helvella

It also shows how popular you are because members are interested in what you are posting.

You can prevent people from following you if you want.

Click on your avatar next to the search box (I'm on a PC, your screen may look different). A menu should drop down. Click on Settings. There are three tick boxes under Privacy. Take the tick out of "Allow other members to follow me". You might want to change the settings of the other tick boxes as well.

I've just been followed too

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply to mischa

Send him a message telling to get lost or something more appropriate. I hate people who take advantage of people when they are ill. He is scum and needs to know it!

mischa profile image

I will. I'm not that easily fooled and I do know the current situation regarding NDT.

I reported it immediately.

How can I change my account settings to stop followers please?

1Simulated profile image

Your in a Group that group can see your posts and comments they don't even need to follow you your in that group .

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply to meme

Click on your avatar and from the drop down menu select SETTINGS.

Under the heading PRIVACY you will see

Allow other members to follow me

If that box is ticked then click on the box to remove the tick, that then means nobody can follow you.

elwins profile image
elwins in reply to SeasideSusie

Thanks, have already done that, just asking how to remove all the notifications I have received. Cannot seem to work how to do it. Thanks for your help much appreciated.

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply to elwins

Elwins

What notifications?

humanbean profile image
humanbean in reply to elwins

I don't think you can delete notifications of being followed, if that is what you are talking about. Just ignore them.

If you've received private messages from someone and don't want to keep the messages I don't know a way of deleting them either. But I just ignore those too.

You can stop getting email notifications by removing the relevant ticks on this link :

healthunlocked.com/email-no...

helvella profile image
helvellaAdministratorThyroid UK

Please feel free to email HU expressing your opinion. :-)

support@healthunlocked.com

That applies to everyone. The more notifications they receive (whether reporting the profile, sending emails, reporting Private Messages), the better - as I see it.

helvella profile image
helvellaAdministratorThyroid UK

Anyone! And everyone. :-)

I know that walking into a full inbox after a holiday can help to concentrate minds. Much better than a single contact.

Lora7again profile image

I have just sent them another message telling them what I know about it. Hopefully they will contact him and tell him to stop scamming this site all the time.

Hi elwins .

I have had the same problem with Canadians even though I am English usually without prescription through online companies all Canadian based usually measures are needed to block them the best you can I know the feeling .

elwins profile image
elwins

How do you delete notifications, not sure how to do it.

I don't allow anyone to follow me. It's a simple setting. Then any scammers have to send private messages and you can report and block them

Miffie profile image

Spotted a new notification and paid no attention other than thinking why follow me? Brain more focused this am I looked at his/her profile and reported him/her .A blatant scammer for sure.

This guy has followed me three times up to now. Does anyone know of someone who has actually tried to buy from him...or are they too ashamed to admit they’ve been scammed? Would be good to know either way 🤔

I would never buy any medication or such from anyone or anyone who claims to be selling online products. Dangerous.

Because it's impossible for real people, who aren't being paid, to be online 24/7! I learned this lesson the hard way while I was running a mailing list for people with bipolar disorder.

Thiroyd has just left the building :)

(which is good because he'd 'followed' another 800 or so people overnight )

I imagine HU will be busy for while answering all the reports they woke up to.
