Eczema and Hypothyroid?

Hi, I've been getting a flare up of eczema over the last few weeks. Previously not had for a long time.

The bit on my ankle has started following getting a minor blister from my shoes rubbing me once about 2 months ago.

Is this related to being hypo?

Misslissa,

Low thyroid levels can cause or exacerbate existing eczema.

Yes, I use aloe vera gel, it's very soothing, along with a plain emollient overnight to stop it cracking. I hope things improve for you soon.

I found my eczema got worse then a LOT better when I got my nutrients to an optimal level. In my case iron and Vitamin B12 were particularly important. I'm sure thyroid treatment had a big impact too.

I'm not saying that the same things are important for you. I imagine any deficiency could have an impact on eczema. You have to find out which one(s) (if any) affect you.

I would also suggest looking into your adrenal health. Severe stress has been making my eczema worse ever since it first started about 45 years ago.

I'm having a synacthen test as my morning cortisol was lower than the endo wanted. I am incredibly stressed. Just about to write a post about it actually!

I have that and I don't know if it's from thyroid or if it's from prediabetes I don't like it

My GP has mentioned pre diabetes but all tests are fine?

I had an a1c test and it showed me as pre diabetes so I went on a diet and lost 30 pounds so far...this aging thing is hard...all the new diseases. I was spoiled and used to be so healthy!
