Anyone had kidney problems

My thiyroyd levels finally come down a bit in a year and keep getting like an achy pain between my hips n bottom of my ribs, my eye specialist asked if they checked my kidney function but my thiyroyd specialist never mentions anything

Have you ever discussed this with your thyroid specialist? In 45+ years of hypothyroidism I've never had a kidney function test linked to my thyroid so it's not a standard thing.

She wants to test my liver function, and hyperthyroidism can cause ckd

Kidney function does not come within the remit of endos/thyroid specialists, although untreated hypothyroidism can cause kidney damage. Hyperthyroidism can make ckd worse, but is not necessarily a cause. Hypothyroidism is considered a possible risk factor for ckd, but not a cause. If there is some concern, your GP should run a kidney function panel.

Hypothyroidism and kidney problems are linked. I know this from personal experience and I found a paper the other day which confirmed this. I'll find it asap and post it here. And will explain my personal experience too.
