Are you still on 3 grains of Armour?
Hi Jazz couldn't get any last few months so back on levo 100,
No, it’s been difficult to get any brand of NDT recently.
Well, your FT3 has definitely dropped a bit—looks like you’re missing the T3 in the Armour. How soon after taking the Levo did you do the blood test? Just trying to gauge whether the high FT4 is because you’d taken the Levo less than 8 hours before the test.
Your Vit D looks rather low. You’d definitely benefit from supplementing Vit D and getting your levels much higher.

So that we can make meaningful comments, please tell us
1) what thyroid meds you take
2) how many hours before blood draw did you take your last dose
3) what supplements, if any, and what dose.
Hi am on levo 100 ,not been taking supplements recently due to getting private test also had routine blood test at doctors last week and they dropped levo to 75,I skipped levo 24 hours before tests.
Joad467
So were you on 100mcg Levo when this test was done? Or 75mcg? Not sure as you say you are on 100mcg Levo then say your GP reduced Levo to 75mcg last week.
Vit D is far too low. Recommended level is 100-150nmol/L according to the Vit D Society and Grassroots Health. You should supplement with D3, 5000iu for 3 months then retest, also take D3's important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-mk7.
B12 is obviously too high so no need to supplement for that.
From your other post antibodies are nice and low and don't suggest autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's).
Thank you,I was on 100 doctor said to throw away those and pick up and use a 50 and a 25,if hypo not hashimoto do you know what could be cause please
Joad467
Although Hashi's is the most common cause of hypothyroidism, it can be caused by quite a few other things including genetic, environmental, glandular fever/Epstein Barr virus, head/neck trauma/whiplash, pregnancy, to name a few so it's not possible to tell you what caused yours.
It would seem that you need an over range FT4 to get an FT3 level anywhere near half way through range, so you would seem to need that T3.
Was Ferritin tested, if so what was the result?
Do you supplement with selenium, that can help with conversion.
What brand of Levo was your 100mcg tablet? Did you get on well with it?
What brands are your 50mcg and 25mcg tablets?
It's best to stick to one brand as long as you do well on it. If your previous brand was OK there was no need to change, you could cut a 100mcg in half and alternate 100/50 to give 75mcg.
Please don't throw your 100mcg tablets away, if you don't want them please take them to the pharmacy to dispose of them safely.
Thankyou Susie for your great information will order the D3 and selenium

Some suggestions for D3:
I like Doctor's Best D3 softgels - a nice clean supplement with just D3 and extra virgin olive oil to aid absorption, no excipients. I have done extremely well with this supplement and it's quite budget friendly.
Some members like BetterYou oral spray but for me, personally, there are too many excipients.
D3's cofactors:
D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and Vit K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems such as hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, etc.
I like Vegavero or Vitabay brands.
D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds if taking D3 as tablets/capsules/softgels, no necessity if using an oral spray.
Magnesium helps D3 to work. We need Magnesium so that the body utilises D3, it's required to convert Vit D into it's active form. So it's important we ensure we take magnesium when supplementing with D3.
Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds if taking magnesium as tablets/capsules, no necessity if using topical forms of magnesium.

Selenium:
The best forms are selenium l-selenomethionine or a yeast bound selenium. I used the brand Cytoplan, it's a nice small tablet with no obvious odour (a lot of selenium supplements have an unpleasant odour). Avoid selenite and selenate forms, these are inorganic and poorly absorbed, not recommended. Some people like to test selenium first but if you don't then 100mcg daily should be fine, certainly no more than 200mcg.
Alternatively, you can get selenium from Brazil nuts as long as they state the selenium content. Members have given me the following information:
Sainsburys SO organic brazil nuts contain 50mcg selenium per 30g serving of nuts
sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/pro...
and their Fairtrade ones have 75mcg selenium per 30g serving
sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/pro...
One member has said that M&S Natural Brazil Nuts say "harvested by hand in the Amazon forest and naturally high in selenium".
Also, check out Aldi's "The Foodie Market" Brazil nuts, the packaging is said to show selenium content as 79mcg per 30g serving.
Another one is 'My Garden of Eden' Brazil nuts from Home Bargains.. They say "High in Selenium and high in vitamin E" on the front of the packet and the Nutritional Information says "one serving (25g) gives 63ug of Selenium".
Too much selenium over time can cause the following:
Garlic breath
Nausea
Diarrhea
Skin rashes
Irritability
Metallic taste in the mouth
Brittle hair or nails
Loss of hair or nails
Discoloured teeth
Nervous system problems
Thanks Susie😁will be ordering them,I thought I had Hashis so been gluten free, should I stay that way, thanks again
Joad467
If you think you are benefitting from being gluten free then carry on, it can only be a good thing. And you can have Hashi's without raised antibodies, I expect there would be swings of symptoms and test results in that case though.
Don't start all supplements at once. Start with one, give it a week or two and if no adverse reaction then add the next one. Again, wait a week or two and if no adverse reaction add the next one. Continue like this. If you do have any adverse reaction then you will know what caused it.
Suggest you keep hold of 100mcg tablets, you will soon need to be back on them
