Why is Hashimoto's not on my physio's list of auto-immune disorders?

I attended an appointment to have a steroid injection in my hip for bursitis. The physio asked if I had any auto-immune disorders. I said Hashimoto's thyroiditis. She'd never heard of it so looked it up in her NHS work computer. Not on the list. I had the jab and am fine but am wondering if this is an oversight that needs bringing to someone's attention.

In U.K. medics never refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as hashimoto’s

Just autoimmune thyroid disease....they only treat subsequent hypothyroidism....and completely ignore the autoimmune aspect

Auto-immune thyroiditis wasn't on there either! Clue's in the name, I'd have thought!

Bet they probably only have hypothyroidism listed (if that)

I got my TSH (the only thing they test) back today, 0.05 again. I have an appointment on Monday in which the GP will drop my dose to 75mcg levo, my hair and eyebrows will drop out again, I'll have the heating on expensive 25°C all the time, feel knackered and put on half a stone. Then we'll go round the depressing roundabout again.

Don't allow your doctor to drop your dose and explain how ill you will feel if they do this. The TSH is a pituitary gland hormone not a thyroid hormone and it is the T4 and T3 that counts.
