16 months since I've had my baby. I was out on levo in Feb 20 and my endo removed my levo of 50mcg to see if my thyroids will work without it. 3 weeks and my results are:
Tsh 2.73 range 0.3-5
T4 14.4 range 7.9-16
T3 5.7 range 3.8-6
Before coming if levo they where:
Tsh 1.6 range 0.3-5
T4 18.5 range 7.9-16
T3 5.4 range 3.8-6
My question is this enough time for a true reflection to see if my own thyroids are working and to say this definitely was PPT?

No his not tested them at all. In the beginning they where over 1000. Not tested them since. I have a blood test form for it I was given and ill do that but does that mean antibodies can reduce if thyroids settle? Please educate me here. I am not the best understanding this
There's no need to retest for antibodies. If you have elevated thyroid antibodies, it indicates that the Thyroid is likely to come under attack at some point in the future. If you feel well there's no need to be on levothyroxine but if it were me, I would get a thyroid test every 6 months or once a year unless you start feeling unwell, then get it tested sooner. I would want to monitor thyroid function to pick up any progressing failure quickly, which is possible, due to the presence of thyroid antibodies.
I feel OK apart from tired a lot, easily annoyed and snappy, my lady time is all over the place since come off levothyroxine. Weight gain. The positive is hairloss has stoped so much.
If those symptoms worsen over time, it's fair to say you need to go back on levothyroxine. You need to wait six weeks from the last tablet to get a better idea. Then every six weeks to get a good idea of where you are. But as you had antibodies, it isn't PPT, it's Hashimotos, and you should tell your GP that you feel rubbish and that since you have hashis, you should go back on levothyroxine.
I changed surgeries when I moved house from a Dr who treated according to how I felt to one that only looked at how much I was taking (175mcg) and saying it was too much. We agreed to drop it to 125, I felt rubbish so tried to go back and really struggled. I have ended up taking thyroid-s because I couldn't raise my levo adequately.
This is actually my endo not my gp. They strongly belive I am healed and i this with my 1st child and took around 16 to 18 months to heal. He even commend that my results are brilliant and clearly ppt. Honestly I give up as I've had 4 endos. 1 diagnosed me overactive, 2 ppt and 1 hypo. My gp will not go against the endo letter either.
But you have antibodies, that's the crucial thing. Suggest that you ask for a second opinion, get one from the recommended list here and see what they say. You are entitled to it.
Recommend getting FULL Thyroid and vitamin testing done after minimum 6-8 weeks with no levothyroxine
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
And especially likely to drop when levothyroxine is stopped
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
I agree with Mistydog to get tested in 3 or 5 weeks time. If you still feel OK and test results are good then monitor every 6 months unless you feel unwell. I also agree with getting vitamin levels tested. Hairloss can be due to low ferritin/iron levels rather than thyroid disease or levothyroxine.
