Frequently Asked Questions

Will members see any difference on the platform?

Everything will remain the same. The branding will continue to be HealthUnlocked. This means the site’s look & feel will continue to be as it is today, including name, logo, URLs, emails, etc.

Will HealthUnlocked remain a free platform for members to use?

Yes, HealthUnlocked will remain a free platform for members to use. We strongly believe this is required to amplify our mission of helping people to better manage their health in a holistic way.

Will there be changes to HealthUnlocked’s mission and values?

No, we looked for a new global home that shared our values and cared about people’s voice in relation to their health journeys. We believe that being part of the Corrona family will allow us to continue working towards our mission, one where people can connect with others around similar health experiences to ultimately improve their health and quality of life.

What does it mean that HealthUnlocked will now be part of the Corrona family?

Our sustainability in time is safeguarded. We’ll be able to expand our communities, reaching more people in need of peer-to-peer support, and offering our current members additional opportunities to engage in research.

We will continue to be a UK registered organization as we have been for the last 10 years and the HealthUnlocked team will continue to support members and community partners. From now on, we will do this by working side by side with HealthiVibe, Corrona’s patient experience unit.

Will the HealthUnlocked team still be available to help with technical and moderation issues?

Yes, the HealthUnlocked team will continue to be on hand to support all technical inquiries and support moderation teams to manage their communities, as we have always done. You will still be able to contact us directly at support@healthunlocked.com so please don’t hesitate to reach out and say hi!

Will there be any changes to the HealthUnlocked privacy policy or privacy features?

The privacy of all engaging with the platform will continue to be safeguarded by the HealthUnlocked team with the utmost care.

We do not foresee changes to our privacy policy as a consequence of the acquisition, and we remain bound to comply with current privacy laws, including GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Having affirmed this, if there is any planned change, be assured a detailed communication will be provided to HealthUnlocked members, as usual.

Will it be possible to opt-out of being included in data gathering and research?

Everyone on HealthUnlocked has the option to opt-out of aggregated data collection through their account settings. You can also customise which emails you receive from us, including research opportunity emails.

Who will be able to participate in research?

We will continue to present research opportunities to those we think they might be of relevance to, based on the information provided on HealthUnlocked, the communities followed and content added to profiles.

How will this impact my community?

With access to more resources through our new global home, we will be able to sustainably support the platform and safeguard the future of the communities. We will also be able to dedicate resources to growing and developing the communities to better support more people. Communities will have extended support to thrive, and expanded opportunities to directly impact research and understanding into a health topic.

How will this impact my community’s partner organisation?

Through sustaining the platform in this way, we can ensure that we can continue to deliver effective technology free of charge, allowing our community partners to support their audiences without having to budget for technical community infrastructure. This new global home will also present new opportunities for our community partners to connect with other major players in the healthcare industry to help them amplify their mission.

Will there be any changes to the functionality of the platform?

The platform will continue as a best-in-class social network for health and we will continue to work on our planned site updates and new features to improve the user experience for our members and community partners.

Will moderation teams still manage their own communities?

Yes, moderation teams (admins, moderators and ambassadors) are the key cornerstone of HealthUnlocked and will keep all their current rights with regard to managing and moderating the community.

The most important thing to remember is that it is still a UK registered company and therefore they need to comply with the strong EU data protection law, GDPR, and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.
