Nature-throid not available - what are the alternatives?

Hi I’ve just seen the press about the Nature-throid recall. I’m worried as I’ve been taking it for quite a few years now and I don’t know what the alternative is? I buy it without a prescription so is my only alternative to go back to Levo? I’m based in the UK. What is everyone else doing?

I’ve been whittling about this too. In the end, I bought some more Nature Throid despite the potential for it to be sub-potent. Ironically, I still ended up having to pay more for it too. Most places are no longer selling it or are almost sold out.

There aren’t a lot of available NDT substitutes at the moment. Armour is available but expensive. NP is also still available but more expensive than it was. Metavive or Thyrogold might be a potential solution. You might actually find it easier to source liothyronine to take alongside levothyroxine?

Thanks Jazzw. Armour is cripplingly expensive I just don’t think I can afford it. I’ll pm you about liothyronine and where to get it. If anyone can tell me what they are doing, it would be much appreciated.

Mine was on the way from USA when I got the notification it was less potent than advertised, but I'm using it anyway. As it was quite a high % still, so it just means if /when I get a 2nd lot and it's 100%, I need to think about adjustment of dosage.
