I've had three positive ANA test. It specified the nuclear pattern was found in lupus, however I went to a specialist eight years ago and he didn't think it was lupus but my thyroid. I think the titer on mine was 1:80, 1:60, 1:40 over the past eight years.

Yes, mine has been 1/640 for years, it rose a couple of times to 1/1280. My Doctor always repeats that a positive ANA means little...I always strongly beg to differ as I know before the test that it’s high as I as my Lupus is ALWAYS flaring. Listen to your body is my advice after thirty years with this disease.

The specialist said lupus usually has higher numbers so blamed it on my thyroid. From my experience Drs won't diagnose you until you have something obvious like a goiter or near death.

I had positive ANA when I was first diagnosed with Sarcoidosis

I have positive Ana 1.1280. I think the ds dna is a more specific test. Have you had these tests?

I had a negative ANA and a positive ds DNA. I was retested this week and was negative for both. All my tests were negative, which is great, but no answers to joint pain and hives. My Rhumey is attributing my symptoms to COVID , which I had in March. Seems logical.

I thought that a positive dna was specific for lupus? Is your rheumy going to test again?

I will probably ask for one at some point. However, since everything (including ANA) was negative twice (along with compliment levels and Inflammatory markers) were all negative, she feels COVID wreaked havoc on my system. I guess time will tell.

Yes, I have always had a positive ANA (1:987 - 1:1067 speckled fine or atypical) result when I had the testing done (Since I was a teenager). Most recently, had the test come back positive by a hematologist who told me to point out the result to my GP because it indicates I have arthritis. My GP then sent me for a DS DNA. The DS DNA titre also came back positive, and now it is suspected I may have Lupus.

did you have RA factor?

My RA factor came back once as weak positive when I was a teenager. But not much was thought of it back then.

Yes, I tested positive for both about 20 years ago. I was seeing a dermatologist at the time, and she promptly referred me to a rheumatologist, who thought I probably had Sjögren's. She wanted to treat me with some serious meds, but when I declined she lost interest in monitoring me. I've since been left to my own devices, which may have been for the best.

Yes, but only tested once. The rheumatologist I saw was distinctly unimpressed.....My orthopaedic surgeon was horrified by the state of my hip joint when he removed it for replacement, and sent tissue samples off for testing. The results were sent to my rheumy who was still unimpressed, but did send me for ultrasound on my toes and hands. I knew that my big toes and thumbs are bone on bone, but the sonographer said that I had bone spurs in my metatarsals in my right foot and had also broken my right heel.

I had to have my other hip replaced and have not been back to the rheumy...don't know whether I should find another one.

My mother has PsA.

I’ve had positive, negative, positive w speckled pattern and negative cascade, positive w negative cascade, positive w .1 over for Sjogren and positive w under range but mid range Sjögren ANA. DsDNA is to date negative. My C4 is always low my c3 is always mid range. My ch50 is over range (tested once).

Yes, I've had positive ANA in the past. They don't appear to mean anything or I was never they did.
