There is a problem with my usual brand of NDT and it is currently unavailable. Is it okay to just change brands or is that problematic? I guess if it's unavailable I don't have a choice. Are there some more compatible alternatives than others?
Please could someone pm me advice on an alternative brand and supplier as I'm getting low?
Thanks!

I too have an issue with my regular brand of NDT, maybe it is the same as yours. I am also hoping to change or at least be able to buy an alternative brand. I have been taking Nature Throid 1 and a half grains daily.
Any advice or help would be very welcome and much appreciated.
It is perfectly OK to name brands. But not sources.
I think you are referring to the recall of Nature-Throid and WP Thyroid - both made by RLC in the USA.
We have seen a range of answers to the changing of makes of desiccated thyroid.
Some people have switched make at the same dose and been fine. Others have not - and might have had to adjust the dose, or even not get on with the other make at all. As with everything, we are each individuals.
It seems reasonable to consider the same dose, or very slightly less. If they are both have very similar claimed T4 and T3 content.
I use Metavive 1 and 11. It is a glandular but I was taking WP Thyroid until it was discontinued. I have been taking Metavive for over a year now. Metavive was changed when RNA was added a few months back. I was concerned at first but I think it was the hot weather because I am fine now on Metavive
I can’t get WP Thyroid now because it’s been recalled and I can’t afford the alternatives from the US pharmacy I get my medication from. I’m in the UK and absolutely panicking because it’s highly unlikely they’ll prescribe T3 with T4 if I come off NDT. Really don’t know what to do.
My pharmacist is permitted to temporarily make a compounded desiccated gelcap. Once the NDT is back in production the pharmacy will no longer be permitted to make the gelcaps. They gelcaps seem to be a good option as they do not have the fillers that are in the pills. The only issue is that most of us split our NDT doses. That means the gelcaps will have to be made half the total daily dose so that we can consume them AM/PM.
