Hi I am looking for some help introducing Armour to Levothyroxine.
I did try 3 years ago with Naturethroid but had a bad reaction. Clutter very kindly gave me some advice in the past, but because of my first experience I was afraid to try again. Recently I bought Armour I started to use the advice that Clutter gave me, but I am finding it difficult. I start the day with 50 mcg and 1/2 a grain, but I have nothing left in my body to carry on by early afternoon. I feel so tired and unwell that I take 1/4 of levothyroxine and by night time it happens again.
I do not take extra Armour because I thought it best for my body to get used to it. Has any one else had this problem?
My normal dosage of levothyroxine was 75 mcg plus 2.5 mcg T3, but I was very ill on this with burning veins and pressure in head, wrists and feet so I was desperate to try something else. The Armour seems to be okay, but just not enough.
Thank you for any advice.

This is an observation rather than something based on any papers I’ve read—but when people struggle to introduce T3 or NDT it’s usually because of nutrient deficiencies (which in turn have been caused because of being chronically undermedicated for thyroid issues).
What’s your ferritin status? B12, folate, Vit D?
And what were your thyroid blood tests on what dosage of levothyroxine before you started trying to introduce NDT again?
I have not had the Ferritin lately, it was OK sometime ago, my B12 is always high and Vit D over 80. I think NDT failed the first time because I was living on my adrenals because there was not enough T3 going into my cells at that time before I introduced T3.
I have recently had blood tests for CFS which my Endocrinologist recommended, even though I know hypothyroidism causes same symptoms, he obviously doesn't 😞. My T4 was high in June so I have been trying to cut down on Levothyroxine to reduce it, but I then I get other chronic symptoms. That's why I decided to try Armour. I am wondering if I should try another 1/4 of Armour in the afternoon, I didn't because Clutter recommended taking 1/2 for 2 weeks before increasing. Just at a loss, nothing seems to work what ever I do these last 3 years. I will wait and see what my blood tests show. Thank you for your advice. ☺️
