Hi! I read some of your posts and I need some help! I am taking 125mcg tirosint and my TSH IS 0.1 BUT MY T4 IS 2.4( VERY HIGH)- My doctor decided to put me on 100 mcg, but I am concerned because it will bring my TSH super high. I read from your posts that you combine the two doses. Anyone that had a success story? how do you take it. I will like to bring this information to my endo.
combination of 100 mcg and 125 mcg: Hi! I read... - Thyroid UK
combination of 100 mcg and 125 mcg
MY T4 IS 2.4( VERY HIGH)
Can you give us the actual range, please. Just telling us high is telling us nothing.
My advice would be not to let them change the dose until they've tested the FT3. Because you're only over-medicated if your FT3 is well over-range. Low TSH and high FT4 are not good indicators of over-medication. And, if you drop your dose, your FT3 will drop too, and could make you very ill. T3 is the active hormone, not T4, and not everybody is good at converting it.
125 MCG
TSH 0.1 T4 2.4( RANGE FOR T4 GOES UP TO 1.8)
MY T3 IS LOW OUT OF RANGE
I DO NOT CONVET T4 TO T3- THEY DID SEVERAL TEST AND VERYTHING COMES CORRECT. DOCTOR JUST DROPPED ME TO 100 MCG AND I KNOW TSH WILL GO UP. IM HOPING HE IS TRYING TO GET ME USED TO 112 MCG, SO WHEN TSH GOES UP WITH 100 MCG HE CHANGES TO 112 MCG. I HAD THYROID CANCER AND I CAN NOT AFFORD A HIGH TSH. RIGHT NOW I AM IN REMISSION.
AL SO I HAD RAI- I WONDER IF RAI IS THE CAUSE OF THE LACK OF CONVERSION.
VERY FRUSTRATING.
OK, so, yes, that is very high. And, you obviously don't convert very well. And, you doctor has no understanding of thyroid. He should not be dosing by the TSH under any circuùstances, but certainly not if you've had cancer. And, keep changing your dose is not going to improve your conversion! Is there someone else you can see? Don't you have an endo?
I don't really think RAI is the cause of your poor conversion, not that I know of, anyway.
Please add actual results and ranges
Just testing TSH and Ft4 is completely inadequate
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Ask GP to test vitamin levels
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Is this how you did this test?
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
When were vitamins last tested?
Do you have Hashimoto’s?
How do you feel on 125Tirosint? I was on that dose and I found it a little stronger, I went down to 112mcg and some T3.
Where do you get Tirosint liquid gel? I was told it’s unavailable in the Uk?
It is not 100% unavailable if you can find a doctor to prescribe it and a pharmacy who will obtain it. And, very likely, have to pay for it.
But I think adin and Caper12 are not in the UK.
I take caps-gel not liquid, I order them online from an international pharmacy in Munich (I don't think if I'm allowed to write the name here). They order from IBSA Lugano- Switzerland where the pills are made from. I send the scanned recipe by e-mail and they send it to me by courier and I pay by card. Helvella is right, I'm living in UE but not in the UK.
If they only dispense with a prescription, it is fine to mention them.
For those in the UK, EU pharmacies which have previously allowed them might well not accept UK prescriptions after the end of the year, or quite possibly well before then.
Ok then, googl it; Metropolitan Pharmacy Munich (MUC)

Also with the recipe I take from them Thybon t3, Tirosint it costs me about 17 eur/50caps and 25eur/100caps.
Yes it is possible that the brexit will change the conditions.
I did well for 6 weeks and then I started having heart palpitations. When they CHANGE YOU FROM 125 TO 112 PLUS T3 what were your numbers? WHY DID THEY ADD T3?
