TSH Receptor Anibody <0.3 IU/ML 0-0.9
This is the test for overactive thyroid/Graves disease. Anything over 0.9 is positive. yours is less than 0.3 so therefore your result is negative for Graves disease.
Anti thyroid peroxidase >1022 IU/ML >9
These are the antibodies that, if postive, confirm autoimmune thyroiditis (known to patients as Hashimoto's disease) which is where the immune system attacks the thyroid and gradually destroys it. The antibodies clear up the mess after the immune attack. Antibodies fluctuate and may show a different level if test is repeated. If this is your test result then you have Hashi's.
Oh no. I was initially told they are testing for PPT could that mean I have that or definitely hashimoto?
Ela_peraj
PPT - what is this? Post partum thyroiditis? If so it can be temporary and your raised TPO antibodies may settle down again.
Yes, that's the one. Could that show high TPO?
How else can a endo test for Hashimo? I am on 50mcg levo but my t3 keeps going over range? This why I keep thinking it could be ppt?
Ela_peraj
Yes, it's still thyroiditis but can be temporary when it's post partum.
I don't know how long PPT can last.
A thyroid ultrasound is another test for Hashi's.
