Hi all, a very strange event occurred yesterday. My 100mcg levothyroxine came a day later than expected so I took 4x 25mcg Wockhardt instead. After about 30 mins my head started to burn. I have taken 4x25mcg before many years ago without any issues? I will add the batch numbers in case anyone else is having a similar issue. Batch no HU10035, OR, BN HU10023, There are two batches numbers because I had some older strips with a few pills still in them so just put the strips in one box.
Just checked the new batch delivered yesterday after the incident, the same batch no end 035, but the seal has been cut?
Seal for 100mcg almus not cut.
Just added, no worries about seal they broke it to add an extra 14 tablets.
The batch no ending in 23 would have been the end of the previous month's supply which if you remember i have been complaining about burning scalp and hair loss throughout that month. This incident occurred after taking or using no other oral or transdermal medications, including what i thought was the problem the HRT.

Just double-checking, I assume you checked that the batch numbers match between the card outer and the blister packaging?
In the UK, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) operates the Yellow Card scheme for reporting issues with medicines.
They have slightly different approaches to Side Effects, Defective medicines and Counterfeit or fake medicines. All can be accessed by following this link:
It very important that we report issues. Although we might wish that we could rely on medical staff (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc.) to make reports, the truth is they often do not. Often no-one has told them of the issues they are having. Even if you know they have made a report, your report will add to the information. You will explain it differently and might include different details.
Years ago, the MHRA opened up the Yellow Card scheme to allow patients to make reports.
If in doubt, make a report. The MHRA must expect that some reports are inappropriate and will have mechanisms in place for handling them. It isn't your responsibility to make the decision. All that can reasonably be expected of you is to make reports in good faith, taking care to be as accurate as you can.
Thanks helvella, I have called pharmacy and she said she would report it to yellow card, but i will do too. She said it is very unusual for me to be ok with wockhart and then to become reactive to it, i agree with her. Wockhart was the only 25mcg that did not give me hordenous side effects when i first started to take levothyroxine as it had no accaia gum which obviously the others do?
I don't think Actavis had acacia in it. It's now Accord but doesn't contain acacia as far as I'm aware, at least in the 50mcg dose. Helvella is the expert.
The patient information leaflets have chaged, mine no longer have ingredients list?
With the help of a pharmacist we looked at all the listed ingredients of several forms of levothyroxine generics as i was getting serious side effects, we discovered that wockhardt was the only one that did not include accacia and strangely enough i felt less side effects with wockhardt prior to this lasted issue.
Many people seem to read right past them as they are often listed within a sentence starting "The other ingredients are ...".

Maybe a highlighted section especially for fillers which may cause allergic affects. Red for very likely, orange moderate and green none found. This would help for those of us that suffer brainfog.
I appreciate why this would be desirable from the point of view of those who need to know.
But it is too difficult to be sure of anything. Given that some people even find Tirosint (which only contains gelatin, glycerol and water) intolerable, it is impossible, I fear.
On top of what you suggest, I'd have people asking whether they are vegetarian, vegan, Kosher, Halal, etc.
And so much of what we think we know is questionable. For example, we might think it is the mannitol in Teva that causes issues, but we do not have proof. Could it be impurities in the mannitol rather than mannitol itself?
Further, by limiting what I put, the information even in old posts is generally reasonably OK. The more I add, the worse the problem of people seeing old versions and being misled by them. (Yes, I do recommend people download the latest copy. But I doubt many do.)
Brainfog and other associated mental health concerns which have been increased by thyroid diseases have only become more and more disabling for me personally since my levothyroxine journey. In the article it states that mental health should be improved once thyroid replacement begins. Unfortunately for me i did not have active mental health issues prior to starting levothyroxine. I have argued with my GPs to the fact that this medication is making me mentally ill but none have brought a healthy solution to the table. I have been offered two types of anti psychotics since starting levothyroxine, olanzapine which helped with irritability to resulted in weight gain and hypersomina. The second was ok for the first few weeks, then i experienced irregular heart beats accompanied by chest pain and overall weaknes to the point i was bent in double. I was happy to continue into the second month but although the label stated same dose and same medicine i experienced a totally different effect from the first month. My body could not tolerate those either.
Under the above scenario i would not be able to make good judgements concerning my health, diet and lifestyle. Reading an or obtaining health information to improve my health would be compromised greatly.
