Hi guys,

Quick question, have any of you ever used cbd oil? I’ve had my levo upped to 100mcg just a few weeks ago and am feeling much better than I was, minus the awful hair loss and still some mild joint pain but I’m hopeful this will go. A friend recommended I try cbd as it’s really good but I’m a bit scared, wondered if anyone’s tried it while on levo? Tia xx

Not on levo, no. I'm on T3 only. But, I take CBD oil all the time. It's very good for backache. Absolutely nothing to be scared of. :)

Which one do you take? Are you allowed to tell me? Can I get it in the health food shop?

I, personnally, wouldn't buy anything in the 'health food shop'! I get mine here:

simply-cbd.co.uk/

We can talk about it because it's not prescription-only. :)

Which one do you use? There are a few on their website.

Yes, I take it, I find it helps with a lot of symptoms, if you are going to invest make sure you do your research, you want a brand with legal lint THC (0.2) in it and something that hasn’t been processed at high heat as this kills off the goodness of the cannabinoids, the bit you want. H&B CBD oils are very expensive and do not contain THC, this helps to activates the Cannabinoids making them stronger. It won’t make you high in anyway shape or form...

I have to say that I had a very different reaction when taking my CBD oil. My CBD oil was the good stuff described above without the THC in it. I took it with Levo and The first night that I only took four drops, I woke up with panic attack type heart palpitations which was extremely scary. I never had this before and didn’t know what it was. After going to the cardiologist and they couldn’t find anything, I mentioned to her that I had taken some CBD oil. I asked her whether or not she thought that this could’ve caused my reaction. And she said that it can happen sometimes. Sometimes the body will convert it to the active THC form, which is what probably happened to me. It was very scary situation, and I will not be taking it again.

You should start off perhaps using 1-2 drops then increase very gradually, that may have helped.

Oh that’s definitely something I will watch out for then, thanks for letting me know. Maybe I’ll try the bare minimum first and if it doesn’t agree with me I’ll give it to someone else. X

Four drops is much too much to start on. It's like hormones: start low and work up slowly. One should start on 1 drop a day for the first few days. Then, go up to two, etc. until you feel you've reached your maximum dose.

And, you should take it at least two hours away from levo and all other medications and supplrement.

Also, when you get onto two drops, try and take them at different times of the day, because it doesn't stay in the system for very long and needs to be multi-dosed.

I have pretty painful knees through osteoarthritis. I take a few drops before bed and I wake up in less pain. If I need it again during the day I take a few drops, but I avoid taking it before lunch.

I have never tried it but one of my rescue dogs has stiff hip joints from injuries and previous neglect ☹️ a friend recommended it for him and what a difference it makes to him, especially first thing in the morning bless him. I buy a really good one called 'simply-cbd.co.uk' really helpful nice people. Lol I am not really into alternative stuff, my sister does reiki (rolls my eyes very loudly) she use to do reiki on one of my old dogs and that worked, could have knocked me over, deff not placebo effect.

I take CBD all the time when I'm anxious, can not sleep and/or have aches and pains. Love the stuff. Mine is prescription. I took a long distance course on CBD at the University of Arizona because I also was worried. During the course the brand I take was specifically mentioned as quality controlled. That helped me overcome my concerns. Quality is definitely very important. So I would recommend looking into that before taking CBD. The only thing is price. What I take is quite expensive, so I can not always afford it. I only take it when all else fails during those times. But it works great for me. I'm glad I took the step to get it prescribed. Important also to start low and go slow so as to figure out the lowest effective dose because apparently your body can get used to it and then the dose has to be increased. If starting high there is nowhere to go. Good luck.

Thankyou very much, after reading all the comments on here I do believe that starting of low is the way to go. Xx

Yes Rosie. I take CBD. Also get it from simply CVD. I take the gold when I wake up during the night and during the day I take the blue. The simplycbd FB site has a lot of helpful information on it re types of CBD, dosage etc etc . Reliable source of CBD too. Not like some other suppliers. Please be aware of the requirement to leave a specific period of time between meds and CBD and as others have stated, start off with a low dosage. Good luck
