Hashimoto TPO antibodies query

Hi group

At my last blood test I had low levels of TPO which was classed within normal range.

Does the fact you have a low level of the antibodies mean there is a risk of the antibody increase at a later date?

Antibodies fluctuate so can be different each time they're tested.

I've had mine tested as part of a test bundle many times over the years and always come back low, generally below 10 but still a small variation.

Which antibodies were tested and what was the result and range?

There are two types of antibodies linked to autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s)

TPO and TG antibodies

NHS refuses to test TG antibodies if TPO antibodies are within range

Majority of Hashimoto’s patients have either just high TPO or high TPO and high TG antibodies

But a significant minority only have high TG antibodies

Also

20% of Hashimoto’s patients never have high thyroid antibodies

Did you do anything do make them go low? Mine are always high! I went gluten free a year ago and checked recently and TPO reduced in half but still way over the norm.
