Low testosterone - female. What can I do?

Ok so after months of making sure my thyroid levels and meds were stable and still having issues, I thought maybe I was having hormonal problems.

My results are just back and as suspected, I have low testosterone. My main remaining issues for months have been muscle fatigue and tiredness, as well as a crushing general fatigue for a few days each month.

I also have a complete lack of libido which is starting to really affect my relationship.

I’ll post the results below but what is the solution to this? I’m already doing all the dietary stuff, I exercise doing weights and cardio several times a week and it’s still getting worse. All the advice is magnesium, sleep, low stress etc etc... I’m already doing all that and have been for at least the last two years.

I’m certain the GP won’t do anything about it as my cycle is perfect. I’m 43 😢

Hi there, I now have a prescription for natural progesterone and testosterone prescribed to me by a private holistic GP who specialises in hormonal issue. She was recommended by an NHS gynaecologist who said I wouldn’t be able to get testosterone on the NHS. I can PM you the details if you are interested? It has made a difference to me!

If you wouldn’t mind, that would be fab!

I was using bio progesterone cream until about 4 months ago and it helped hugely with my estrogen dominance symptoms. I stopped though as I think my natural progesterone probably isn’t too bad now and I didn’t wan to overdo it.

Def need testosterone though as the symptoms are so pronounced. I’d seek the guidance of my private endo I think before I embarked on anything but I’d be interested to hear your experience and what works for you 👍🏻

Me too. 6 years! It’s brutal. I haven’t seen a gp yet about my results but I’m not holding out much hope

I'd suggest you check out Alissa Vitti. There are loads of podcasts out there at the moment and she has two books; WomanCode and In The Flo. All about hormones and cycle syncing to help with all sorts of hormonal imbalances. She suggests weights and cardio only in the follicular and ovulatory phases as they can be stressors to the body during the rest of the cycle. It's all pretty interesting, have a Google and see if it makes sense to you.

Not what you're looking for?
