Ask your GP to run some tests

Is there any autoimmune disease is your close family?

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels and thyroid antibodies as well

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Come back with new post once you get results

If we are hypothyroid our body cannot perform as it usually does and we can get lots of clinical symptoms but unfortunatley doctors nowadays know none at all, I believe.

Before blood tests were introduced we were given (due to clinical symptoms alone) a trial of NDT (natural dessicated thyroid hormones). If we improved we stayed on it.

Before NDT, introduced in 1892, hypo patients died. NDT saved lives. Even in this modern time, it still saves lives for many people. Unfortunately through 'misinformation or cost' it was withdrawn without notice.

Why leave patients 'high and dry and desperate' instead of restoring their health?

This sounds like hormones but could be estrogen related?

Hi, Liverpool64 I have just noticed on your Profile that you've given no background re being diagnosed as hypothyroid i.e. when diagnosed - with what?- you've just given your name.

Usually, if you read a post you can click on the person's name and read their background i.e. a profile (history of your journey).

Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroidism - have you been given levothyroxine - what dose etc?,

Not what you're looking for?
