Hi, ive just spoken to my GP regarding my daughters hair loss. Have to say I had to beg for a blood test. She had a full blood count done in June but no ferritin check was done. Doc has said that based on those results her hemo levels and size are very very good and no indication of anaemia or other difficiency.
b12, vitamin D, folate all been refused.
She finally agreed to check ferritin only. I am so disappointed, feeling all alone at this point. Even asked if starting levo could cause temp hair loss and she said she has never heard of this.

Why doesn't this suprise me! Yes, starting levo can cause temporary hair-loss because it has an effect on testosterone. But, it is only temprorary. But, your doctor doesn't really know much about anything, does she. Had she actually listened to any of her patients, she probably would have heard of it, many times!
Thanx for the reply greygoose, im going to look for a private childs endo. Could you send me the email for thyroid uk where we can request a list of reputable endo please.
