Yes I get t3 on prescription. In Scotland it has to be prescribed by an NHS endo and after a trial they then instruct the gp to prescribe. My endo will not prescribe ndt as it is not licensed so I presume that this also is Scottish policy.
NDT used to be freely prescribed in the UK that is - until False Statements were made about it by the Professionals' Organisation in order to get it withdrawn. One of Thyroiduk's Advisers wrote the following and for three further years requested a response but they never did have the courtesy.

No mention that it was the very first thyroid hormone replacement that begin in 1892 - without blood tests - that saved lives from thereon due to the doctors being very well trained in symptoms of hypo.
Unfortunately, it is no longer prescribed.

So, instead of patients with hypothyroidism being able to source 'options' they have been prevented by those who should know better and who should also realise that not everyone can improve on levothyroxine alone. They are very, very harsh in their decisions and obviously don't have that 'emotion' that ellivates them from doctors to healers.
I get T3 meds on NHS in England. Again it must be prescribed by an endo. I believe that NDT is not licensed in England either (although Sarah Vine/ Mrs Michael Gove apparently can get it so there must be some GPs that offer it).
If you email Dionne at Thyroid UK - tukadmin@thyroiduk.org - she can email you the list of T3-friendly endos. You don't need to see the endo nearest you, but must obv be reasonably convenient- and you do need your GP to refer you. Most GPs don't know much about thyroid so will happily dump you on - sorry - pass you over to - someone else.
