Hi

Should I stop taking Vitamin D tabs before doing private thyroid testing and if so how long beforehand? I realise I should take levo 24 hours prior to tests. Thanks

No need to stop the vit D prior to thyroid tests.

It's Biotin, as a stand alone supplement or within a B Complex that can affect blood tests (any blood tests, not just thyroid) that needs to be stopped for 7 days before a test.

Any other supplements you don't need to stop but it's a good idea to take them after the blood draw rather than before.

If you were testing Vit D then you'd continue to take your Vit D supplement and, again, take it after the test on the day.

Thanks. I probably should have mentioned I am having VitD test too. I have gone for the advanced medicheck thyroid testing which includes vits too. My mistake.

If Ferritin is included then if you take iron tablets stop them 7 days before, also no high iron foods such as liver, etc, in the 7 days before.
