Carbimazole and sore throat

Hi all, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 3 months ago and put on 40mg of carbimazole. My thyroid was really high. I've developed extreme fatigue in the last few days, headache and sore throats and also swollen glands. My mouth feels burnt inside but no ulcers. At the same time, I've been Nursing a patient with covid. I did the 111 online test at it said I should self isolate but now I'm wondering if it's the carbimazole? I had a blood test for something else and it said my ALP markers are slightly elevated. I gather that's to do with liver function. I'm wondering if I should call the doctor about stopping carbimazole. Any advice gratefully received

Yes...if in doubt on Carbimazole you need to speak to a real live medic

Hello Caz

Definitely do something today :-

When I was put on Carbimazole I was told to go straight to A & E if I developed a sore throat.

There are alternative AT drugs so it's might just be a question of switching to another :

Obviously currently with Covid restrictions it's confusing for you but either way it needs sorting sooner rather than later.
