Can someone help me with interpreting my results please? Particularly free T3 and free thyroxine? Thank you.

For anyone to be able to interpret your results, we need to know if you have a diagnosis of a thyroid condition and if you take any thyroid medication.

Hi, yes I was diagnosed with hypo in 2014 and I take 100mcg levothyroxine. Thank you

It's not so much that you're under-medicated - although 100 mcg is only a smallish dose - but you don't convert very well. Have you had your nutrients tested: vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin?

Thanks Greygoose, I've not had those nutrients tested in a long time. My vit D was really low last time I did have it checked.

Time to have them checked again, then, I think. :)

How do you feel?

TSH should be close to 1 for good health

FT3 is only 35.32% through the ref range while FT4 is 69%

Both should be close to 75% through their respective range

A slight levo increase may help....

However it looks as if your conversion of the storage hormone T4 to the active hormone T3 is poor....evidenced by low FT3 in relation to FT4

This may be because the following nutrients are not optimal, this is essential for good conversion - folate, ferritin, vit D and vit B12 . Have these been tested recently?

There are other possibilities but I suggest that first you optimise those nutrients and post any results you have.

Depending on the outcome members will offer further advice

Thank you DD this is helpful. I haven't had those nutrients tested for a long time so that will be my first stop. Thanks again

Extremely important to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

These need to be optimal

Strictly gluten free diet helps or is essential for thousands of Hashimoto’s patients

Many thanks SlowDragon. I will be contacting my GP today so I can get these tested. I am yet to start a gluten free diet, I do find it a bit daunting and no idea where to start. Thanks again
