Pollen Allergy very bad this year

It is bad this year as we have not had the rain to knock the pollen down. I can get relief if I put a damp flannel over my face and breath through that for around 5 minutes, and the relief lasts about an hour.
Wearing a home made face mask can help as pollen grains from trees are quite large, but I prefer the cold flannel treatment. Used T bags stored in the fridge help with itchy eyes but I expect you have tried that.
I farm, so am constantly being hit with the pollen. Tree is the worst for me, but some grasses bring me out in a rash, which is not good when making hay.
The only good thing is that it seems to be getting better with age - I am not nearly as bad as I used to be. Contact lenses help too.
Start doing a rain dance to wash the pollen out of the air is all I can suggest really. Naked under a full moon. I will join you!
If you can get a hold of them, Piriton tablets (or any antihistamine including the ingredient chlorphenamine maleate AKA chlorpheniramine maleate.) Those are the only antihistamines that help me with hay fever allergies. They do have drowsiness as a side effect but it’s never made me drowsy. Depends on the individual.
That is what they gave me when they overdosed me with iodine for a scan, and it worked well. I had tried it when a lot younger and it did not seem to work so well them.
Fruit pastels are very good - you can get rid of the itch on the roof of your mouth with the hard sugar coating.
I think (but I may be wrong) that it depends on the brand. I have tried different brands of chlorphenamine maleate and Piriton (tablets) is one of the few that works. However, it only works on reducing skin allergies/irritation from external sources. I tried using it to relieve the itching sensation I got from an Ashwagandha supplement and it didn’t help, none of the antihistamines I tried helped relieve that.

Allergy impact from invasive weed 'underestimated'
Scientists say the impact on human health across Europe of the invasive ragweed plant may be "seriously underestimated".
Allergies caused by common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) affect around 13.5 million people in Europe, according their study.
This results in €7.4bn (£6.5bn) worth of health costs per year.
