I had tsh, ft4 ,ft3 and TSHrab tested because my functional doc suspect basedow.
I had blood taken three weeks ago but TSHrab takes long at the lab my local hospital uses so still waiting for results.
But my question is if we assume the hyper phase type of episode I had with suppressed TSH would be autoimmune related then for how long TSHrab is measurable?
I wonder if it took too long for get the tests , again.
Are there any other type of antibodies that could and could be investigated on top of tpoab, thyglab and tshrab?

Afraid I don't know how long any particular antobodies hang around. I think you have two questions there.
First, from being released to disappearing, I do not know. In the newborn, there is talk of maternal antibodies protecting for around two months. Is that the same for TSH receptor antibodies - I simply do not know. I did have a look around but it can be ridiculously difficult to find answers to some of these seemingly simple questions. Especially when there are untold millions of references to antibodies, everywhere, at present.
Second, the continuing production of antibodies - which would top up the levels even as individual antibodies are destroyed. Our immune systems appears to continue making antibodies for at least weeks in the case of viruses.
But we still seem to lack proper understanding of what triggers the rise and fall of the various antibodies.
There are other thyroid-related antibodies. For example, TSHab, antibodies to TSH itself, and T4ab and T3ab. No idea if they would be of any relevance whatsoever to you but I have my doubts.
This virus-oriented page seemed worth a brief glance. The numbers involved are quite staggering:
Each antibody producing cell can produce 2000 antibody molecules per second. After 4-7 days, antibody (IgG) is detectable in blood.
Yeah I read that article and it was very interesting!!!! That made me think about all possible antibody variations, it would explain the inconsistencies with my results and symptoms.
It just kills me if I got tested too late thanks to my stupid GP. I called about my very hyper symptoms on December and they did not believe me. I got myself tested privately on February when I had started to feel a bit better but only got TSH and ft4 as ft3 was 90 euros. TSH was 0.04, GP gave me appt 29th on April. Was able get appt with my functional doc who is ridiculously busy and he gave me referral to more tests which I had done end of March.
Naturally it might not be thyroid related but I wish they would have done all relevant tests when I was symptomatic so we could get over this and do something about the underlying cause causing hypo and hyper symptoms. If I am never tested while most symptomatic then what is the point to test at all 😄
