I took Tamoxifen for 5 years. Have been off for 2. Still having hot flashes, but the strange part is I wake up about 30 seconds before the hot flash, sometimes I feel a quiver in my stomach, sometimes I’m cold. Then the flash starts. It’s not severe and it’s over quickly, but it’s really annoying waking up several times a night. I often have trouble falling back asleep, but I’ve always been a poor sleeper. Does anyone else experience this. Any solutions?

Post-Tamoxifen Hot Flashes at Night
My step mother took this for 5 years and complained of hot flushes when she was taking it she was in 50s when she took it and now no longer takes it and she is now in her 70s. Do you think there might be another cause for this? I had night sweats for 2 years when I had untreated thyroid disease because my thyroid was struggling.
I don’t think this is the case. We (husband and I) are in a good place. Kids are grown. Life is simplified. Not cooking unless I want to, lol. Life is good for which I am grateful! Having said that I have noticed that stress, alcohol, and coffee can cause hot flashes. this isn’t my concern. The ones I can’t tolerate are the ones that wake me from a dead sleep, so aggravating because I often have difficulty falling back asleep. And, yep, I know all of the healthy sleep habits, etc. is it just that Tamoxifen put me into instant menopause and it has to run its course?
