Hi, just got my B12 result and it was 90. I then took another one 3 weeks later and it was 130, but I had taken a couple of squirts of B12 supplement a few days before. Would it make that much difference? And is it in range please?
Range is 37.5 - 187 but have no idea what measurements they measure in. Thanks!

That is the Active B12 test. The range is 37.5 - 187 as you have mentioned, if both tests were Active B12 with Medichecks then both results are in range.
If they are both Active B12 tests with Medichecks then I am very surprised there was such a difference in only 3 weeks. I wouldn't have thought a couple of squirts a few days before the test would have made such a difference.
yes I thought that too! I took another one about 2 months ago and it was 158! Does is usually go up and down like that? And what is too high? Over 187 I presume?
So 3 x Active B12 tests with Medichecks within 2 months and levels were 158, 90 and 130? I find that strange and I don't know if it does go up and down like that, I've never done any B12 tests close together. I think I might be asking Medichecks to comment.
I'm happy with my B12 over 100 and up to about 150. If you supplement and it reaches 150 then it just needs maintaining so reducing the amount of supplement would be a good idea. Our B12 store is supposed to be good for about 2 years.
A few squirts before the test can make all the difference ! The result could be skewed. Excess B12 is excreted in urine. The result tells you the amount of B12 that is available to be transported to the cells where it is needed and utilised ...
