Endocrine disruption is a major problem and can affect thyroid hormone in a way which is not always reflected in blood tests. My view is that these particular endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) don't matter so much because they have short elimination half-lives. Hence if they affected patients the patients would notice that they got better when they didn't use these products. However, it is yet another example of how common substances affect thyroid hormone action.
