A licence has been given for T3 5mcg tablets in the UK. As a consequence the (already high) cost of these has tripled. Can anybody help me source Liothyronine? My doctor will write a prescription if it’s needed.
Any help appreciated!

Dogknox, As you say you can get a prescription, you could investigate the German Pharmacy sources mentioned on the TUK website here thyroiduk.org/tuk/treatment...
EU T3 is only 20mcg T3 ....but relatively easy to cut
Post about comparative costs of 5mcg, 10mcg and 20mcg T3

Thank you so much. I was wondering if that was the case. Even if I was to waste half of them, they would still be a fraction of the cost of getting them here!
How much T3 per day are you taking?
If it’s 20mcg per day ...as split dose that’s easy
If it’s 10mcg ....it’s doable
If it’s 15mcg it’s a bit trickier to cut into equal 1/4’s
I take 5mcg twice a day so splitting won’t be easy. But, even if I only get 1 or 2 quarters from a pill, the price would be minimal compared to what the pharmacist says I’ll be charged here. I already pay >£120 for 90 x 5mcg tablets and I’m told the price is set to treble. No way I can afford that.
The only non-UK source (other than the USA) that I know for 5 microgram tablets is Ace Pharmaceuticals in the Netherlands.

A tiny number of people here have managed to get their products dispensed. Under normal circumstances there should be no great problem in a UK pharmacy registering and ordering from them. However, who knows at present?
Price, from memory, is much lower.
Thank you so much. This forum is a godsend.
