Personally I think it depends on how long you have had any thiyroid problems everybody is different for instance I had my thyroid removed in May last year due to it being toxic it was releasing large amounts of the overactive thyroid in to my system and had been for 3 years was only diagnosed in 2018 thanks to a keen eyed gp... I have since had 2 other illnesses a lung infection and a kidney infection to which my body took weeks to fight off I certainly would not like to contract the virus as I have been told my immune system could be compromised I'm not responding to levo I'm not converting so my T3 is very low... So to say we're at no more risk than others would depend on how we are coping with the thiyroid illness it self... 🤔
We are unlikely to find out whether it is or not until a lot more research has been done. Even then I do not believe we will be presented with the truth regarding its effect upon those with thyroid issues.
Therefore, if you have unresolved issues that the NHS refuses to treat properly, by eg. refusal of prescribing NDT or Liothyronine, then you need to take the greatest care possible.
After having been told LIES by my own CCG I am unprepared to believe anything else.
You may do yourself harm by believing what the BTF/BTA tell you. These are the same people who recommend blacklisting NDT and making no effort whatsoever for the 300,000 patients with unresolved thyroid issues.
Or, you can believe what I say which cannot possibly do you any harm.
