On 2020/01/05 I wrote a post about Kappler levothyroxine asking if anyone has ever received it. Checking it again, the product listed under Kappler is actually from Aristo! That is, it is the very product that has now been added under Aristo branding.
Thank you for this list. I usually have Actavis. My local pharmacy (not one of the big ones) may be a little confused as to which is the same. Can't say I'm not also after speaking to the (very helpful) assistant. Hence coming and checking on here. I may pop back with a printout tomorrow just to clarify: it might mean I can pick them up tomorrow instead of them having to seek elsewhere.
She didn't know Northstar was the same but did mention they were getting a lot of drugs in under that brand now.
Both Almus and Northstar are "own-label supplier" branding and could change on a regular basis. I believe that for medicines other than levothyroxine, this has been seen many times.
Always check - my information is just the best I can manage and the products could change without me noticing!
Yes - they are identical. They have the same Product Licence number (Marketing Authorisation Holder number).
Furthermore, I have personally taken both and found no difference.
But do remember, Actavis is changing to be called Accord. Again, it is same product but the company Accord acquired the rights to many UK Actavis products and have taken a while to change branding.

•• The active substance is anhydrous levothyroxine sodium.
Each tablet contains 100 micrograms of anhydrous
levothyroxine sodium.
•• The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose,
maize starch, heavy magnesium oxide, sodium starch
glycolate type A and magnesium stearate.
I do not consider any one make to be better (or worse) than any other. Each of us is an individual and what might be wonderful for one, could be awful for another. I know of no basis for predicting which makes we find best/worst except where there is known to be an ingredient that cannot be tolerated.
I do not like Teva at all. But others find it the only make they can take.
