Hi all

Iv recently been told colostrum is very good for gut issues including hashimoto's disease , leaky gutt, IBS , I have tried looking into it but read it can increase TSH T4 and T3 levels ?? Does anyone have any experience of colostrum ? Does anyone know for sure if it messes up your levels ? Its seems so beneficial for gutt health but I'm nervous of the fact it may interfere with my thyroid meds

Many thanks in advance x

Not colostrum, but do drink organic dairy kefir daily. I haven’t noticed any interference with my thyroid meds, & do find it beneficial for my gut health, digestion, & general well-being.

Chris Kresser’s website has a lot of useful & free information re autoimmune disease as well as digestive issues. You might find specific information re colostrum there.

Thanks for your reply I actually just watched a video of dr Myers stressing the fact that colostrum is extremely dangerous and actually spurs on cancer cells to grow faster he showed proof, I found the link on here by searching, so that's a big no for me now .. iv been drinking kefir for the past month due to researching the many benefits then happened upon an article that stressed it is not good for someone with hashimoto's disease so now I'm confused as I thought originally it was very beneficial ? I know it definitely adds weight iv gained 3lbs and that's absolutely due to the kefir goats milk as I'm strictly gluten free and have not changed anything except added kefir.

Is she the doctor that’s anti vaccination?

Chris Kresser has an article re why fermented foods don’t agree with some people, due to histamines. I’ve read a lot about kefir but not come across anything to do with kefir causing weight gain. Like anything, foods don’t agree with everyone. Do you feel it’s beneficial otherwise?

I've just finished off a 0.6 kilo tub of colostrum powder and it didn't have any effect on my TSH.

I'm not sure what it did for gut health. I had a test that found metabolites from SIBO and yeast in the gut (thank you, doctors, for all of the antibiotics over the years) and I exterminated the bad guys with several probiotics. One had an ingredient that touted a flamethrower effect on the yeast. I consumed 180 of the capsules over 12 days, following with 60 Ohira's Professional Formula over the next 10 days, and am now on RegActiv ME-3, a unique lactic acid strain isolated 20 years ago by scientists from the University of Tartu (Estonia). The researchers were studying Soviet Cosmonauts and how their gut bacteria changed over long periods aboard the MIR space station. They also were studying children in Europe, and comparing those societies with many allergies with those whose children were more robust. It seemed to be a function of diet. Estonian children were still eating a mid-20th century diet. The researchers found an Estonian girl with a very healthy gut biome and studied the strains of bacteria. They isolated a strain, which produces the essential amino acid glutathione.

That's very interesting, I watched a video of dr myers stating the dangers of colostrum and that it's a growth formula and has been scientifically proven to speed up the growth of cancer cells particularly prostate , it scared the life out of me, he showed diagrams of people's growth rate of the cancer and it literally escalated after only 2 weeks , theres so many positive aspects to taking it but the risk of waking cancer cells has scared me into thinking il not be trying it, I actually got the link on here, thanks for your reply
