Mass on thyroid advice

Hello there, I went for an mri last December, on my neck, the radiologist noted a 4cm x2 cmx2cm soft tissue mass which was thought to be an esophageal tumour, after a gastroscopy and a staging ct scan with contrast the consultant who I never met has discharged me back to the gp.

My blood tests are normal apart from low vit D, for which I will take supplements.

my question is should I ask the gp to refer me to an endocrinologist to find out what this mass is?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The soft mass is thought to be thyroid tissue so I guess it must be some kind of nodule?

It would have been kinder if the Consultant spoke with you first and explained exactly how you should go forward, instead of leaving you in no-man's land and searching for information on the internet.

As I've not had experience personally of your condition, members who've had similar will respond with reasurrance and how you should proceed.

Hello shaws, I did think it odd that I never met the consultant, I know they are busy people but it seems a bit short shrift🤔
