Did I hurt myself??

Hi, I've updated my history, but in short I had a 151 TSH in October. After the attached labwork, we increased my dosage to 137mcg 19 days ago. I started to feel so much better that I completely over-worked myself a week ago. Ever since I've been so fatigued and can hardly do anything. I'm so discouraged and frightened. Since then I've read that overworking yourself can deplete your t3? Doesn't it seems unusual that it'd take over a week to recover?

I think we have all done that at some point, especially early in recovery

You start to feel better, and then do too much....then feel much, much worse

It can take week or so to recover

Early days, it’s very important to pace yourself

Try to do similar amount each day, with very small increase

Keeping a diary can help you see the overall improvement, rather than day to day set backs

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels if not been done

Have you had thyroid antibodies tested?

You may need to get full Thyroid testing privately as NHS refuses to test TG antibodies if TPO antibodies are negative

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

it is disheartening isnt it! SlowDragon gives good advice, especially logging to see overall improvement rather than setbacks
